Italy is one of the fastest-growing craft beer markets in the world.

The craft beer revolution in Italy began in 1996, with the emergence of a few microbreweries in the northern part of the country. Over the past 15 years, the number of craft breweries in Italy has exploded, and the quality of the beer has been praised by experts around the world.

Italian craft beers are known for their creativity and innovation. Many brewers experiment with different flavors and ingredients, and they are not afraid to push the boundaries of what is considered "traditional" beer.

This trip will take you on a journey to discover the best of Italian craft beer. You will visit some of the most respected breweries in the country, and you will learn about the brewing process from the brewers themselves. You will also have the opportunity to sample a wide variety of beers.

The trip will start in Milan and end in Rome. Along the way, you will explore the world of Italian craft beer. You will learn about the brewing process from the brewers themselves, and you will sample a wide variety of beers, from IPAs and stouts to sours and fruit beers.

Roma Beer Festival

The historic pub "Ma Che Siete Venuti a Fà" is hosting a unique event in Rome to celebrate the best of Italian and international craft beer. Approximately 45 breweries will showcase their creations and innovations exclusively for the event.

The participating breweries have been carefully selected by the pub, which has been active in the promotion and dissemination of the craft beer sector since 2001. The event will take place in a festive atmosphere, with decorated stands and live music.

The Montegioco Brewery is located in the Grue Valley, a few kilometers from the city of Tortona. This ancient area is a crossroads of four regions: Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy, and Emilia-Romagna.

The brewery's founder, Riccardo Franzosi, takes inspiration from this regional diversity in his beers, which often feature fruits and are aged in wooden barrels from local wineries. Montegioco currently produces over 20 different beers.

The Del Ducato Brewery is a hidden gem in the small town of Roncole Verdi in the Parma region of Italy. Founded by Giovanni Campari, a homebrewer and graduate in Food Science and Technology, the brewery has quickly become one of the most respected craft breweries in Italy.

In 2012, Del Ducato won an unprecedented seven awards at the European Beer Star, one of the largest and most important beer competitions in the world. This feat has yet to be matched or surpassed.

Toccalmatto Brewery is a craft brewery in Fidenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It was founded in 2008 by Bruno Carilli, a passionate homebrewer and beer industry manager.

In 2011, Birrificio Lambrate won 5 medals (4 bronzes and 1 gold) at the International Beer Challenge, one of the largest and most significant competitions in the world, held annually in London.

  1. Payment & Cancellation
  • To book your tour, a minimum deposit of 20% of the total cost is required.
  • Cancellations made more than 60 days before the tour start date will receive a full refund, minus a 5% credit card processing fee.
  • Cancellations made within 60 days of the tour start date are non-refundable.
  • We understand that life happens, so we want to give you the flexibility to choose the best option for you.
    • Shift your payment to another Word Beer Expedition of your choice.
    • Stash it in a Word Beer Expedition gift certificate that can be used by you or a friend for any of our tours.
  • No refunds will be given for late arrivals, early departures, or missed meals.
  • In the event that the company must cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances, participants will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule.
  1. Registration
  • Payment can be made in full at the time of booking or in installments.
  • If paying in installments, the final payment must be made 60 days before the tour start date.
  • Last-minute bookings can be made if space is available, and payment can be made in full at the time of booking.
  1. Passports & Visas
  • All participants must have a valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining.
  • Participants are responsible for obtaining any necessary visas or documents.
  1. Airfare
  • Airfare is not included in the tour price.
  • Participants are responsible for booking their own flights.
  • We recommend arriving in Europe a few days early to avoid jet lag, but it's necessary to do the hotel check-in on the first day of the beer trip.
  1. Smoking
  • Smoking is not allowed on brewery tours, in cafes, on the coach, or anywhere near the group.
  1. Luggage
  • Participants are allowed to bring one medium suitcase and one small carry-on bag.
  • The company is not responsible for lost or damaged luggage.
  1. Fitness Level
  • These tours are active, so participants should be in good physical condition.
  • Participants will be responsible for carrying their own luggage and walking upstairs and on cobblestone streets.
  1. Tour Size & Gratuities
  • Tour sizes range from 8 to 30 participants.
  • Gratuities are not included in the tour price and are at the discretion of the participants.
  1. Photos & Videos
  • The company will be taking photos and videos throughout the tour.
  • By participating in the tour, participants agree to have their photos and videos taken and used for marketing purposes.
  1. Liability
  • The company is not liable for any injuries, illnesses, or losses that occur during the tour.
  • Participants are responsible for their own actions and safety.
  1. Travel Insurance
  • The company strongly recommends that participants purchase travel insurance.
  • Travel insurance can protect participants against unexpected events, such as medical emergencies, lost luggage, and flight cancellations.
  1. Changes to the Itinerary
  • The company reserves the right to make changes to the itinerary at any time.
  • Participants will be notified of any changes as soon as possible.
  1. Wi-Fi
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi is not guaranteed everywhere.
  • Participants should be prepared to be without Wi-Fi access for certain periods of time.
  1. Airport Transfers
  • Airport transfers are not included in the tour price.
  • Participants are responsible for arranging their own airport transfers.
  1. Hotel Rooms
  • The company will book hotel rooms for participants.
  • Hotel rooms are typically clean and comfortable, but may not have all of the amenities that participants are used to.
  • Participants are responsible for any additional charges incurred at the hotel, such as mini-bar charges and room service.
  1. Roommates
  • Participants who are traveling solo may be paired with a roommate of the same gender.
  • The company cannot guarantee that roommates will be compatible.
  • Participants who are not comfortable with the idea of having a roommate can pay a single supplement fee.
  1. Group Dynamics
  • The company encourages participants to be social and interact with each other.
  • However, participants are not required to stay with the group at all times.
  • Participants are free to explore the cities and breweries on their own.
  1. Disputes
  • Any disputes arising out of these terms and conditions will be resolved under the laws of the State of Utah.
